My blog is a failure.

‘Tis true.  I ‘m not a blogger.   This is even the second post about how bad my blog is.  But you should still read it.  You know you want to.  Especially since Christmas time has arrived!  To kick off the season, The Greenwoods lit the first advent candle  and read scripture in church this morning.  Neither one of us enjoy public speaking and I sure don’t do it very well.  It wasn’t awful though.  Below is the Scripture I read.  Come back for more Christmas talk.  Its the only thing I can think of to write about.

Isaiah Chapter 9 verses 2, 6&7.

The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

This is difficult

Well this whole blog is really a downer.  I never blog.  It’s harder than I thought.  Maybe I’m not articulate enough.

Let me start over, Megan just alerted me to the dogs tearing apart a roll of toilet paper.   Yeah, I’m just not a blogger.  Blogger.  I don’t want to write about the mundane little things in my life that I hate reading about on other people’s blogs (like dogs destroying things).  Never know, maybe this is the week that my creative edge is sharpened and I churn out a novel.  Stay tuned!

Reblog

Hello world.  Here is a quote I really like.   I got it from another blog.  I’m really not even sure who Thomas a Kempis is.

“It is good for us to have trials and troubles at times, for they often remind us that we are on probation and ought not to hope in any worldly thing. It is good for us sometimes to suffer contradiction, to be misjudged by men even though we do well and mean well. These things help us to be humble and shield us from vainglory. When to all outward appearances men give us no credit, when they do not think well of us, then we are more inclined to seek God Who sees our hearts. Therefore, a man ought to root himself so firmly in God that he will not need the consolations of men.”

Blog and Garden

I started this blog with different kinds of ideas on what I would post.  A video blog.  A blog about my insane job.  A blog about my dogs.  A blog with only pictures.  A blog about our family.  A blog about books I’m reading (ha).  And so on and so forth.  Well the blog became nothing really.  I stopped posting on it because everytime I came to it I couldn’t get the creative juices a flowing.  I’m not the blogger type I’ve decided.  I read other blogs once in a while and the ones I like the most are the ones written by people I like the most.  SO I guess if you like me a lot you will like my blog?  I don’t know.  I don’t think there are many Brian fans out there.  More Megan fans surely.  And for that, maybe you’ll read this.  But just for the heck of it, and also b/c I don’t have a lot to do in my spare time, I am shooting for the rather ambitious goal-considering my past activity-of posting once a day!  Yee Haww!  Brian fans unite!  SO all that said, let me talk about our new garden real quicko yo.

First off, the garden was Megan’s idea.  BUT I really did all the work.  I built the boxes, built the fence, bought the soil, bought more soil after the dogs destroyed half the bags.  However, she did plan the entire thing out, told me how to build the boxes, showed me what to buy for the fence, picked out the soil, so yeah, pretty much I have no idea what I’m doing.  We are excited about it big time.  We have corn, peppers, okra, broccoli(…) Green beans, strawberries, and other stuff I think.  I took these pictures a while back.  Now, the green beans are really sprouting well.  Also the corn.  Isn’t our backyard sweet looking?  We are very grateful for finding this house to rent.  It all fell together perfectly moving over here.  We really are confident where God has us working and living right now.  He is teaching me a lot with this new job.
